Flame-retardant PP is mainly used in black household appliances, because white goods have relatively high aesthetic requirements, and flame retardant PP is still not ideal in this respect. Because flame retardant PP has the advantages of easy processing and low price, it is widely used in some materials that have low performance requirements, especially for heat resistance, such as terminal blocks in computer cabinets, wall switches, etc. Fueled PP materials can reduce production costs while meeting product requirements. Because of this, flame retardant PP has a wide range of applications in the fields of motors and skeleton coils. The following Jiuzhi Plastics Network Xiaobian introduces the performance requirements of three types of flame retardant PP materials used in home appliances: 


1. Washing machine motor housing
The motor casing inside the washing machine mainly plays a fixed protection role for the motor of the washing machine. In the process of high-speed dehydration of the washing machine, some parts may generate sparks due to vibration and friction. Therefore, in order to operate the motor more safely, many manufacturers have put forward flame-retardant requirements for the motor casing material. To this end, some companies have developed flame retardant PP products that can meet the requirements of home appliance companies. Take gold products as an example. The test data are shown in Table 1.

2. Home appliance socket
The appliance socket switch belongs to a small household appliance category, and the socket of the household appliance socket and the terminal for connecting function are made of flame retardant material. According to the current standard of residential buildings, the demand for sockets is about 800 million.
In order to enhance the price competitiveness of domestic products, domestic socket enterprises gradually began to use flame-retardant PP instead of flame-retardant ABS to make household socket shells. The test indexes of flame-retardant PP products used in socket parts are shown in Table 2.

It can be seen from Table 3 that under the premise of meeting the performance requirements of the product, the flame retardant PP material is reduced by 20% in weight and the cost is reduced by 37% compared with the flame retardant ABS material. Based on this remarkable advantage, the current lightweight, cost-effective flame retardant PP products have replaced most of the traditional flame retardant ABS products.

3. Air conditioning housing
In the indoor unit casing of household air conditioners, the traditional material selection is generally HIPS or ABS, and in recent years, material replacement schemes for aging resistant PP have gradually emerged. With the continuous improvement of consumers' safety requirements for indoor household appliances, many air-conditioning companies have begun to use flame-retardant PP as the material for the indoor unit casing. In addition to meeting the basic performance and flame retardant performance requirements of air-conditioning enclosures, flame retardant PP has obvious advantages in anti-aging properties compared with flame retardant ABS and other materials.
