BEIJING AND BERLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--China Advanced Materials & MateriaLS Co., Ltd. (AT&M) and German thin film solar cell and module manufacturer Odersun AG announced today It plans to establish a joint venture company in Beijing, China, to manufacture and sell solar cells and modules based on Odersun's proprietary thin film technology.
Odersun's partnership with AT&M was established in 2004, when AT&M became an early investor in Odersun and a strategic partner for several joint research projects. With the recent renewable energy support programs to promote significant growth in China's PV industry, the two sides have decided to set up joint ventures to join forces in this fast-growing market.
Dr. Zhao Pei, President of AT&M, said: "We are very pleased to take this opportunity to bring highly innovative and flexible solar products based on Odersun technology into the growing Chinese market. Our joint venture is the result of long-term cooperation and trust between the two parties."
AT&M's materials science expertise and technology combined with Odersun's innovative solar technology and market experience have laid a mutually beneficial foundation for this collaboration. The joint venture's manufacturing plant is expected to start construction in 2010.
