New functional materials - phosphors for white LEDs, neodymium iron boron radiation multipole magnetic rings, magnetostrictive materials, rare earth magnesium intermediate materials, thermal barrier coating targets, rare earth magnetic refrigeration materials, rare earth catalysts, plastic rare earth additives, Biological applications of rare earth products, etc. In terms of inorganic new materials, during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†period, the first is to develop a demonstration project of characteristic new materials industry: development of sewage treatment agents, biological additives and other products; development of new energy-saving insulation materials. The second is to develop non-metallic functional composite materials industry demonstration project: vigorously develop high-performance carbon fiber and its composite materials, functional ceramic materials, advanced resin-based composite materials, functional coating materials, plastic optical fiber products. The third is the high-performance alloy material industry demonstration project: the development of high-performance deep processing chemical materials such as silicon, manganese, nitriding, chromium, aluminum silicon and titanium. It is reported that in 2012, nearly 20 projects of rare earth new materials, polysilicon, carbon fiber, high-purity graphite, pharmaceutical carriers and biological additives were introduced in the key chemical projects in Inner Mongolia.
