Recently, the ring crown caps used on Coca-Cola aluminum bottles will be more widely used in Europe with the installation of two production lines from Pelliconi, the world's largest manufacturer of metal crown caps.
The total production capacity of the Ozzano plant near Bologna, Italy, will be 800 million, and production is expected to begin in early 2009. The MaxiCrown crown cap consists of a notched metal cap and a plastic pull tab.
In 2007, Pelliconi signed an agreement with Swedish company MV Patent AB to obtain the exclusive license to manufacture MaxiCrown crown cap series pull ring covers in Europe.
The MaxiCrown crown cap still retains the functionality of the standard crown cap, while also presenting consumers with a distinctive, attractive and easy-to-open feature. MaxiCrown crown caps have been successfully applied to glass bottles, aluminum bottles and plastic bottles.
