At present, the production of large-scale pre-baked anode aluminum electrolytic cells with the largest current in the country has been successfully developed by our company. On March 21st, Lanzhou Hotel passed the identification of scientific and technological achievements organized by the China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association. The successful achievement of this project marks that Chinalco’s large-scale electrolytic aluminum production technology with complete intellectual property rights has reached the world's advanced level.
This project, known as the “400KA Large-scale Prebaked Anode Aluminum Reduction Cell Technology Research and Development†project, was jointly developed by Chinalco Lanzhou Branch and China Aluminum International Shenyang Aluminum Magnesium Design and Research Institute. The sixteen 400KA electrolyzers put into trials for the first time in this project have entered the industrial test in our company since May 2007. After 10 consecutive months of operation, the current intensity reached 403KA, and the anode current density reached 0.82A/cm2. Various technical indicators are advanced and the test is successful at one stroke.
On March 21st, at the appraisal meeting for scientific and technological achievements held at the conference room on the fourth floor of the Lanzhou Hotel, the vice president of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, Professor Gao Gongyin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor of Beijing Nonferrous Metal Research Institute Zhang Guocheng and other experts The formed expert group listened to the report of the research group and inspected the test site. After questioning and discussion, it highly evaluated the good results of this scientific and technological achievement and passed the appraisal unanimously.
The appraisal opinion issued by the expert group believes that the project has obvious technical features and innovations: a reasonable bus configuration has been designed to improve the stability of the magnetic fluid in large tanks; the use of a 5-section upper flue structure design is conducive to improving the set. Gas efficiency and environmental improvement; the use of electrolysis plant ventilation and the overall thermal balance of the electrolytic cell, the cradle and the tank shell as a whole welding, the shell external welding fins, the electrolysis cell small face using the cradle and shell welding, electrolysis tank shell and The lining is located entirely under the operating surface, ensuring the thermal stability of large electrolyzers and improving the working environment. The technology that uses the cathode carbon block and the anode carbon block projection technology is conducive to even distribution of the current in the anode and cathode. The full control and standardization operating system of the electrolytic cell has effectively controlled the heat balance and material balance of the electrolytic cell, developed a stable and safe roasting start-up technology for large tanks, and formed a 400KA electrolytic cell production operation management technology; this project adopts four different qualities. The cathode carbon block was subjected to industrial tests and reached the 400KA electrolytic cell test target. Using an electrolytic cell with a 30% graphite cathode carbon block, the anode current density also reached 0.82 A/cm2, and the electrolytic cell with the graphitized cathode carbon block has the potential to further increase the current intensity; this project is advanced in design, runs smoothly, and economically The benefits and social benefits are significant, and the overall technology has reached the international advanced level. In view of the advanced nature of the project and the reliability of the overall operation, the expert group also recommended that the technology be promoted and applied in the same kind of trough at home and abroad.
It is reported that the development and production of the 400KA electrolytic cell is currently the first time at home and abroad. Its successful development and application has not only created a successful example of the design, installation and production operation of the ultra-large electrolytic cell in the electrolytic aluminum industry in China. The aluminum electrolysis project has provided mature and reliable technology, which has laid a solid foundation for the large-scale and modernization of the electrolytic aluminum industry in China. It also shows that China's aluminum electrolysis technology has reached the world advanced level and has enhanced China's electrolytic aluminum production technology to participate in international competition. The capability provides strong support for Chinalco to build an international multi-metal mining company.
