For the same electrolysis equipment, the difference in current consumption between different companies is 400-500 kWh, and the current consumption of the entire industry varies by 1,000 kWh. There are technical issues here, and more importantly, management issues. Advanced technology and equipment must have advanced energy consumption indicators.
When summing up the development of the electrolytic aluminum industry, Liu Xiangmin said that the electrolytic aluminum industry is the industry with the highest degree of correlation with the national economy, and it has played a very important role in the country’s economic development, especially in the aerospace, military, automotive, and construction industries. He emphasized that although electrolytic aluminum production consumes energy, at the same time it is also an energy-saving product and an energy-carrying product. In recent years, the electrolytic aluminum industry has responded to the national call for energy-saving and emission-reduction and has completely eliminated backward production processes and bid farewell to the era of occupational diseases caused by smoke. At the same time, the electrolytic aluminum industry has continuously increased its investment in science and technology and the upgrading of its equipment. In the past six years, the total AC power consumption of aluminum ingots in the industry has dropped by nearly 1,000 kwh, and the fluoride consumption has decreased by one-third. It should be said that the development of the electrolytic aluminum industry in China has always been a process of energy saving and emission reduction. The production technology of the entire industry has approached the international advanced level.
In response to the next step of energy saving and emission reduction in the electrolytic aluminum industry, Liu Xiangmin called for the industry to attach great importance to the following aspects: First, it is necessary to study the development mode of the electrolytic aluminum industry, and to gradually shift the electrolytic aluminum industry from resource input to efficiency-driven.
