The rapid development of China's solar photovoltaic power generation industry

In recent years, domestic photovoltaic companies have made full use of both domestic and foreign capital and talents, and their strength has been continuously enhanced. A number of large-scale solar cell manufacturers such as Tianwei New Energy, Wuxi Suntech, and Yingli have emerged and are among the leading international players.

According to the “China (Chengdu) New Energy International Summit”, since China’s “Renewable Energy Law” was promulgated in 2005, the solar photovoltaic power generation industry has developed rapidly and its output has accounted for 40% of the world's total.

As the most significant technology in solar energy utilization, solar photovoltaic power generation technology has become a hot spot for research and application in various countries around the world. It has grown at an average annual rate of 30% in the past 10 years. In recent years, China has become an important production base for solar photovoltaic, forming an industrial chain of high-purity polysilicon manufacturing, silicon ingots, silicon wafer production, solar cell manufacturing, photovoltaic module packaging and photovoltaic system applications, photovoltaic equipment manufacturing and some photovoltaic The supporting industries have also been rapidly developed, and the export value of the photovoltaic industry has reached approximately USD 15.8 billion.

According to Shen Lin, deputy dean of Chengdu New Energy Industrial Technology Research Institute, the number of companies currently engaged in the photovoltaic industry in China has reached more than 580, and the number of employees in the industry is about 300,000. In 2009, China's polysilicon, wafer, solar cell and module production capacity respectively accounted for 25%, 65%, 51% and 61% of the total global production capacity. Solar cell output also accounted for more than 40% of the global solar cell output. According to the statistics of the European Photovoltaic Association, among the top 10 global solar cell companies in 2009, Chinese companies occupied 4 seats.
