Tremella is a fruiting body of the fungus Tremella fuciformis. The white fungus is composed of more than 10 thin and pleated flat flaps. Tremella body is pure white to milky white, generally chrysanthemum or cockscomb, 5 to 10 cm in diameter, soft and white, translucent, elastic, composed of several pieces, shaped like chrysanthemum, peony or embroidered sphere, diameter 3 ~ 15 cm. After shrinking, keratin, hard and brittle, white or beige. The sub-solid layer is the surface of the flap. The load is nearly spherical or nearly oval, longitudinally separated, and is born on broad-leaved tree rot in summer and autumn [1].
Temperature: Temperature is an important factor in the growth and development of Tremella fuciformis. Tremella is a moderate-temperature fungus. Hyphae can grow in the range of 16 °C ~ 30 °C. The growth is normal from 20 °C to 28 °C, and the best growth is from 23 °C to 25 °C. Hyphae are slender at 20 ° C or higher. The temperature of fruiting body differentiation is between 16 °C and 28 °C, growth retardation below 16 °C, poor differentiation above 28 °C, and the most ideal temperature should be 22 °C ~ 25 °C.
Humidity: Tremella can be colonized under conditions of suitable humidity and grows vigorously. The hyphae are bundled into bundles and the fruiting bodies are normalized. In a humid environment, the hyphae grow weak and slender, and the fruiting bodies are poorly differentiated or gelled into a mass. Therefore, according to the different requirements of the Tremella at various stages of its growth, appropriate moisture is given. Under the condition of excessive humidity, the white fungus is not easy to germinate into hyphae, but appears in the form of budding.
Illumination: Strong direct light will not favor the germination of the fungus and the differentiation of fruiting bodies. Scattered light can promote spore germination and fruiting body differentiation. Different light has a clear relationship with the color of the tremella fruit body. The dark light ear yellow body is slow to differentiate, and the appropriate scattered light, the white ear is white.
pH: Tremella is a weakly acidic fungus. The pH value during culture should be between 5.2 and 5.8. Peracid or overbase will have a certain effect on the white fungus.
