October 17, National Development and Reform Commission data show that China's natural gas production in the third quarter of this year was 23.9 billion cubic meters, an increase of 6.9% year-on-year, imported natural gas has a substantial increase year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter.
From January to September this year, China imported 22.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas, an increase of 89%.
Due to the stable operation of the Central Asia natural gas pipeline and the commissioning of the Jiangsu Rudong LNG project, China imported 8.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the third quarter, accounting for approximately 27% of the total domestic consumption.
China's apparent consumption of natural gas in the third quarter was 30.6 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 20.8%. The high temperature in the third quarter led to a substantial increase in the amount of electricity generated by the increase in electricity consumption. The average daily gas consumption was only second to the heating period in winter.
