Chinese netizens broke through 300 million people


According to the "24th Statistical Report on Internet Development in China" released by Xinhua News Agency China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) yesterday, as of the end of June, the number of Chinese Internet users reached 338 million, an increase of 13.4% from the end of 2008. Among them, the number of broadband Internet users reached 320 million, accounting for 94.3% of the total number of Internet users, an increase of 3.7 percentage points from the end of 2008.
Corresponding to the continuous growth of netizens, the Internet penetration rate in China has steadily increased. The data shows that as of the end of June 2009, China's Internet penetration rate reached 25.5%, maintaining a steady upward trend.
According to the report, as of the end of June, the number of Internet users using mobile phones reached 155 million, an increase of 32.1% in half a year. The scale of mobile Internet users in China has shown a rapid growth momentum. In addition to the efforts of the government and operators, it has a lot to do with the fashion color of mobile Internet and the rich content of mobile Internet content. The report shows that at present, the proportion of Internet users in China is higher in entertainment, information and social use. The popularity of these three types of network applications among netizens is above 50%. Among them, entertainment network applications tend to be stable after long-term high-speed growth. The ranking of online music applications remained the first, with a usage rate of 1.8% for half a year. The scale of online video users has grown rapidly, with a 10% increase in half a year and a 1.9 percentage point drop in usage.

According to data released yesterday by the China Internet Network Information Center, 56% of Chinese Internet users often express their opinions online.
Blogs are one of the ways for netizens to express their opinions. As of June 30 this year, the number of Internet users with personal blogs or personal space in China reached 182 million, and the user scale increased by 1.84 million in half a year. In addition, netizens also expressed their opinions through forums and news posts.
In the first half of this year, there were frequent hot spots in China's online public opinion. According to the survey, 80% of the Internet users said that after the Internet, they will pay more attention to social events.
The survey shows that the main channels for netizens to obtain information are search engines and online news. Search engines have become an important entry point for netizens to obtain information, which has profoundly affected the behavior of netizens. The survey believes that after major news events such as the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the Wenchuan Earthquake, the Internet has become one of the most convenient media tools for people to pay attention to news.
