Introduction to cold rolled steel

Cold-rolled steel sheets are steel sheets produced by cold rolling, commonly known as cold plates.

Cold rolling is a steel sheet which is further rolled to a target thickness at room temperature. Compared with hot-rolled steel sheets, the thickness of cold-rolled steel sheets is more precise, and the surface is smooth and beautiful, but the mechanical properties are poor, especially in terms of processing properties. Because cold rolled coils are brittle and hard, they are not suitable for processing. Therefore, cold rolled steel sheets are usually required to be annealed and surface flattened before being delivered to customers. The minimum thickness of cold rolling is 0.1-8.0MM or less. The thickness of cold-rolled steel sheets of most factories such as Baoding Puri steel is 4.5mm or less; the minimum thickness and width are determined according to the equipment capacity and market demand of each factory.
