The conversion process was used in the synthetic ammonia industry in 1913, and has been widely used in the fields of coal-to-methanol, coal-to-liquid, coal-to-natural gas, and coal-to-glycol. The transformation process has also experienced the evolution from atmospheric pressure to pressurization, as well as low-to-low, medium-low, all-low-variation, multi-stage reactions. However, the existing continuous clean coal gasification technology conversion process has the disadvantages of long process, complicated operation, high energy consumption, large equipment investment, and the inability to complete the conversion task of high carbon monoxide (content ≥75%).
The isothermal reforming process independently developed by Hunan Anzhen puts the heat exchanger in the reactor catalyst bed, removes the reaction heat by means of by-product steam, and realizes the low temperature and constant temperature reaction of the catalyst bed. The process is short, the reaction conversion rate is more than 98%; the radial reaction, the low resistance, the low energy consumption; the operation adjustment is simple, only one regulating valve can control the safe and smooth operation of the whole system by adjusting the steam pressure. Following the success of the comprehensive utilization of high-concentration carbon monoxide tail gas in calcium carbide furnaces at the end of last year, this year's isothermal transformation process has entered the field of coal-based syngas.
Fengxi Linyi Company is one of the earliest synthetic ammonia enterprises to carry out the industrialization practice of isothermal transformation process. In the production, the temperature of the catalytic bed is low, the plane temperature difference is small, and the imported carbon monoxide content is 45%-48%, the export carbon monoxide content is 0.4%-0.6. %, greatly improving the conversion rate of carbon monoxide, and the typical demonstration effect is obvious.

The historical contribution of short process and high conversion rate is considered to be broad prospects for the promotion and application of new processes.
