Noise is one of the main comprehensive indicators for assessing gear manufacturing errors. In the case of gear noise checker, the standard gear is used for comprehensive detection in the case of standard center distance. 1. Reduce the gear noise with a shaving cutter
For automotive engine soft-toothed timing gears, the final machining of gears is usually done by shaving, and the final quality of the gears is the decisive factor, especially for gear noise. Since the shaving cutter and the gear produce pure rolling near the gear indexing garden during the shaving process, the middle portion of the gear is more shaved and a concave phenomenon occurs, so that the gear contact spot is broken during the gear meshing process. When the tooth surface is rough or the contact is poor, the noise of the gear can be increased, thereby generating an instantaneous impact noise during operation. When the gear tooth shape is convex, the base section has only a small amount of error, the circumferential section error is small, the contact part is the middle part of the tooth, the speed change is small, and there is no tooth top meshing phenomenon when the alternating gear teeth are engaged, so the convex tooth profile is lowered. Noise has a certain effect. According to the analysis, in order to eliminate the concave phenomenon in the gear tooth shape, it is necessary to consider the modulus and the convex amount of the shaved gear when the shaving cutter tooth shape is repaired, the concave amount, the concave depth, the width and the position of the razor tooth shape. 2. Influence of tooth blank accuracy on gear noise
The positioning and installation reference of the automobile engine timing gear is the inner hole and the end surface. If the inner hole clearance difference of the tooth blank is large, the gear precision of the hobbing and shaving is greatly affected, and the mandrel of the noise is checked. Installation eccentricity will occur, which directly affects the smoothness of the gear and produces high noise. The end face of the tooth blank has a large jump, and a large base section and a peripheral pitch difference are generated in the hobbing and shaving process. The center distance error is reflected on the gear comprehensive checker, and the noise check mandrel is installed. There will be a tilt phenomenon, and the tooth direction will be freely contacted during the meshing process, resulting in higher noise.
